365 Days of Poetry: Day Three-Hundred and Thirty

play a song for me.
a lilting melody.
of harps and lutes and pasaltary.
a dead age for a dead tree.

play the drums for me.
make a band, and maybe we.
will one day feel free.
as we did for a count of four.

play a song for me.
show just how you feel.
in notes born of air and breath.
in chords strummed across the flesh.

play a song for me.
