365 Days of Poetry: Day Three-Hundred and Sixteen

this would have been better done.
six months ago.
but the chemistry of the mind.
is unpredictable.

I meant to break down.
planned it.
two weeks in a room with no view.
other than tears.

they wouldn’t come
it scared me.
crying is the one thing.
that’s always been easy.

new to shock.
I went on, thinking.
the bullet was dodged.
these are the mistakes of the uninformed.

now, it is hard to rebuild.
hard to be alive.
what happened to strength and will.
six months ago?
