365 Days of Poetry: Day Two-Hundred and Seventy-Nine

the tag ahead reads Michigan.
what business has it here.
past a torn up overpass.
in the land of bohemian beer.

slow, the pieces fall in place.
a form, a date, a sign.
this puzzle overwhelms me.
jagged edges catch and bind.

eyes are clear today.
we’ll see how long it lasts.
been too many years.
constant failing, all attacks.
