365 Days of Poetry: Day Two-Hundred and Forty-Five

here, the cats and I.
are the wakeful ones.
around the corner.
down the street.
I am sure more are alive.
dancing along to.
something old, something new.
for once I will embrace.
the options of a.
new start, new heart.
those who repeat history.
are doomed to fail.
over and over again.

no need to fall for.
the same old tricks again.
knowing the problem is half the battle.
guilt can’t faze me now.
I’ve come back haunted.
