365 Days of Poetry: Day Two-Hundred and Twelve

Inspired by this meme from WtF.

I am not a proper princess.
no glass slippers here.
I’d break them in a minute.
cause I don’t see so clear.

I am not a proper princess.
no frilly dress or lace.
I’d spill my coffee on it.
cause I missed my face.

There used to be a throne.
made of rocks and trees.
I sat on it, alone.
high above the creek.
They say it always rises.
but I know how to shove.
This princess of the tomboys.
still doesn’t know how to love.

I am not a proper princess.
no kissed frog here.
I’d break him in a minute.
cause I don’t see so clear.

I am not a proper princess.
and I don’t need a crown.
smother me in paper.
I really like the sound.
