365 Days of Poetry: Day Two-Hundred and Eleven

all these masks.
blend together.
I do not know my own face.
I do not know my own place.

all these eyes.
fight for purchase.
I do not know my own face.
I do not know my own place.

red, green, orange, yellow.
blue, brown, black, purple.
impossible dreams.
impossible expectations.

I do not know my own face.
I do not know my own place.

365 Days of Poetry: Day Two-Hundred and Ten

this place is full of life.
cynical and strange.
beautiful and annoying.
a microsm.
of the circle of life.
this is what we lose.
building over everything.
this is the true bi-winning.
technology and truth.
running together,
breathing together,
learning together.

the bending of will.
is not one-sided.
is not a collection of one-way streets.
passing in the night.
it is the balance of insects.
gnats feeding dragonflies.
junebugs making their slow way
through the algae.

365 Days of Poetry: Day Two-Hundred and Nine

white flowers and corn

white flowers and corn

early morning.
too much to do.
work to make.
a better you.
time to meditate.
build a soul.
hard for a ginger.
to feel whole.
embrace the touch.
embrace the fun.
thing about life.
is trials are.
not quite done.
fields of cotton.
dotted white.
remove my spite.
renew my sight.

a prayer.

365 Days of Poetry: Day Two-Hundred and Eight

this is comfort.
when the masks come down.
and we share.
what matters.

this is comfort.
when memory and.
make touch.
almost possible.
across the miles.
and dreams become.
real enough.
through words.
and pictures.
and science fiction.

365 Days of Poetry: Day Two-Hundred and Seven

bury me in it.
the price of pain.
unable to forget.
the cost of bad decisions.
and random lies.
you told, I ate my pride.
long ago, no use.
for false confidence.
I’d rather be real.

365 Days of Poetry – Day Two-Hundred and Six

high hopes.
no dope.
take the help.
save your brain.
family may drive.
your world insane.
but they make us.
what we are.

low points.
no joint.
can save us now.
step back.
a final attack.
to reclaim.
lost smiles.
— muscle memory serves.

you and me.
it’s been a bad dream.
since the turning of eighteen.
let’s get born again.
let’s get whole, my friend.
set ourselves free.

middle ground.
no bounds.
save the humanity.
balance is key.
for old lovers.
like you and me.
but it makes us.
what we are.

365 Days of Poetry: Day Two-Hundred and Five

Inspired by this #prompt from @waytoofantasy.

hope is an ephemeral thing.
makes us laugh and.
makes us sing.
leads to the joy.
in everything.
when all the pretty fairies.
a light, a spark, a.
brand new day.
I want to live.
I want to play.
as time goes by.
and depression kills.
I hug the boy.
avoid the pills.
and look for hope.
in all the things.
for this is the love.
that lets life ring.

365 Days of Poetry: Day Two-Hundred and Four

will we ever know,
the true end?
was Mars saved,
and Carter born again?
god damn the McGuffin.
couldn’t things end well,
with Helium happy,
and Zodanga a shell?
he didn’t have to return.
leave the narrative incomplete.
what use is a romance,
that ends so weak?

365 Days of Poetry: Day Two-Hundred and Three

the show must go on.
and I play my part.
the mother, the fighter.
the sad bleeding heart.
my tears should be red.
a vampire, disguised.
no cutting of flesh.
just death between the lines.

blinding, the sun.
burns and scars.
happiness is a warm gun.
just waiting to spark.

365 Days of Poetry: Day Two-Hundred and Two

I am not awake.
and I am not alright.
my head hurts from crying.
I can’t hold you tight.
no words am I made of.
there’s no passing of bucks.
the past entertains me.
there’s no sense in luck.

errant explosions.
worth no more than shit.
the hurt is not done.
can’t get over it.
fresh face, fresh life.
persistence is key.
and one day we will fly.
right over the sea.
