365 Days of Poetry: Day One-Hundred and Forty-Four

the chatter.
of birds.
we wake.
at the same time now.

the struggle.
all I want.
is reunion.
with the one boy.
who hasn’t let me down.

the peace.
enfolds me.
outside of.
small episodes.
of encroachment.
from home.

the quiet.
of country.
mornings.
broken by.
the chatter.
of birds.
