365 Days of Poetry: Day One-Hundred Forty-Three

I miss you.
like the desert misses the sun.
like an addict misses the pain.

I miss you.
hope you’ll be here soon.
hope you’re warm and safe.
hope we watch the same moon.

I miss you.
but it’s the way things are.
in order to find balance.
gotta reach for a star.
