365 Days of Poetry: Day Sixty-Five

i have not had coffee yet.
and the stink of sex still fills the room.
light is a beautiful thing
that streams over all, trying to make warmth.

it is not succeeding.

ignorance is bliss and
i cultivate it this time–
laying pipe and calming valor.

the guilt should be crushing.

am i too old for it now,
long seperate from my mother?

or is it unworthy of the pain,
for it has always been.
