365 Days of Poetry: Day Sixty-Two

This is the last of the “old” ones. Probably the best I’ve written on this subject.

Well, there was this song…how can you go wrong naming something “Skin and Sodomy”? I think that was it…the lines blur, too many old songs, too many old games.

“Old”

we are
old friends
but really
we are
old lovers
across time
neither able
to bend reality
far enough
to make room.

not sure
we should
see each other
again.
you are hard
to read, but
I know I’ve seen
that face before.

we are
mistaken
running circles
around
opportunity
long past.

we are
too old
now.
