365 Days of Poetry: Day Fifty-Two

little dolls.
spinning for their mothers.
amusement, this drama
makes filling for their lives–
fake strawberry compote
and marshmellow fluff.
when the curtains fall.
and the shoes come off.
the blisters burn.
and the porcelain cracks.

think of the children.
they are our lives.
