365 Days of Poetry: Day Fifty

the end times.
we have come to the end times and I–
I am done.

pushing and pulling.
we are brought back from the brink.
destruction has already come down,
I am lifeless now.

go on without me.
they all do.
i am not essential.

nor do I want to be.
I see it with clarity now.
more than ever before.

no more guilt for participation.
no need to promote.
no constant attention.

gotta fly now.
