365 Days of Poetry: Day Forty

we storm the castle.
a family of knights.
running with the deer.
finding the sights.

the telescope we found
on a factory balcony.
the owner went off the deep end.
we used the lens to see.

the wheel was perched precariously
upon a mountain top.
we punched a dragon to his death
using sandwiches for luck.

the compass was the easiest
so we saved it for last.
a glow in the blacksmith’s bushes
made us able to find the path.

we storm the castle
after fighting ninjas on the sea.
then lava led to rockets
and the princesses were freed.
